Evan R. Alonzo is an estate planning and tax attorney with more than a decade of legal experience helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate two of life’s certainties: death and taxes.

Over the course of his career, Evan has helped hundreds of clients establish comprehensive estate plans and living trusts designed to protect their families, preserve their assets, and avoid the delays and costs of probate.

As both a licensed attorney and Certified Public Accountant, Evan brings a unique perspective to estate planning and tax matters. His practice focuses on the complex intersection of law and taxation, helping clients make informed decisions that account for both the legal and financial implications of their plans.

Evan believes effective estate planning is not simply about drafting documents—it requires a thoughtful understanding of each client’s assets, goals, and long-term priorities. As a father of two young children himself, Evan understands firsthand the importance of having a clear plan in place to protect one’s family and ensure that hard-earned assets are transferred efficiently and according to one’s wishes.

Professional Experience

Before founding the Law Office of Evan R. Alonzo, Evan served Of Counsel to the Law Office of David S. Howard, a nationally recognized estate planning attorney and former national partner at Deloitte. During that time, he worked extensively with individuals and small-to-mid-sized businesses on tax matters, including:

Earlier in his career, Evan began practicing law at a large international law firm in New York, where he gained experience working on sophisticated legal and financial matters before returning to California.

Today, he continues to serve clients throughout San Jose and the Bay Area, focusing on estate planning, trust design, and tax controversy matters involving the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board.
